Thinking of Tagaytay

Tagaytay was a scenic and refreshing place for me.

Officially known as Tagaytay City, it is located in the province of Cavite, Philippines. It is 59 kilometers away from the capital city of Manila, which takes about 2 hours by private car.

My husband and I flew from Butuan City and travelled with friends by private car from NAIA Terminal 3. We spent one and a half day in Tagaytay where we stayed in a condominium we had booked through Airbnb weeks before our trip.

Here are some of the places we enjoyed during our time in Tagaytay:

Taal Lake and Volcano. One can get a generous view of Taal Lake and Volcano from Tagaytay. We specifically enjoyed this view from Taal Vista Hotel, a historic hotel that deserves a time of exploration as well.

Sky Ranch. We also checked out this happy, family place 🙂 One can enjoy the rides here or just hang out as Sky Ranch also affords a view of Taal Lake and Volcano. There’s plenty of food available here as well should you get famished after enjoying the rides.

Puzzle Mansion. All the puzzles I loved (and perhaps would eventually love) were right here. The puzzle collection of Ms. Gina Gil Lacuna was simply amazing. They were in large, medium and small sizes and with varied themes. Ms. Lacuna has been recognized by the Guinness World Records as the world record holder with her 1,028 puzzles in 2012. There were also some puzzles as well as souvenir items available for purchase right here at the Mansion. And yes, we could not resist buying some ref magnets as souvenir.

Sonya’s Garden. While it is located in Alfonso, Cavite, this was just really a short drive from Tagaytay. If you love flowers, gardens and natural products, this is the place to check out and spend time in. There were so many picture-perfect corners here.

Antonio’s Tagaytay. Considered as a top restaurant in the Philippines as well as in Asia, we had to check it out while we were in Tagaytay. As it is strictly by reservation, we made one weeks before our trip. As expected, we loved the food here. The place also has a garden which we loved.

To think back of that Tagaytay trip brings happy memories. There were not only lovely places to see and experience but being with loved ones, with friends definitely made it worth the trip.
