One Morning in Manapa

A view of the sea in Manapa

Having spent my childhood in Bohol where there is an abundance of beaches, it is always a pleasure for me to go to a beach or to even look at the sea while I am travelling by plane or by boat. So I was grateful that one morning I was invited by some friends to join them at Manapa beach in Buenavista, Agusan del Norte. Agusan del Norte, by the way, is located in the lush, large island of Mindanao. This would be my first time to see the shorelines of Manapa. My friends and I reached it by way of a rented vehicle from Butuan City. Travel time was close to an hour.
The sea was beautiful. Well, the sea is always beautiful to me 🙂 The sands in Manapa are not the white ones I am used to in Bohol but still, it felt good to walk barefoot on it. The cottages along the beach can still be improved a lot. And I hope a beach developer will somehow have a vision for that place. We had fun in the beach and since it was an early morning trip to the beach, we had a sumptuous breakfast there 🙂 I had subsequent visits to Manapa but I guess, one always remembers best the first visit.

  9. Hi, my first time here. That is really so serene. I have not heard of Manapa, but i guess it was on the way to Bislig from Butuan. We were there last year to see the Tinuy-an Falls, however it is 6 hr by bus from Butuan. Then we left the area by another 6 hr to Davao. There is also an island in Bislig, which is really beautiful. I’ve posted them last year.
