Europe Going...Gone!

London Events in May 2014

In 2 month’s time, we will be saying goodbye to 2013. If you are considering a trip to London in May 2014, then read on to get to know what events await you there 🙂
1. Chelsea Flower Show. If you associate the month of May with flowers and love blossoms, then the good news is that you can witness the Chelsea Flower Show at London’s Royal Hospital Chelsea. Scheduled on 20-24 May, be sure to get your Chelsea Flower Show Tickets early as the show welcomes about 157,000 visitors each year. The show is known as the greatest flower show in the world and also as the “garden design equivalent of Paris Fashion Week.”
2. FA Cup Final. If you’re more into sports, then you should come earlier for the FA Cup football final schedule on 10 May. The FA Cup is the oldest and longest-running football (soccer) competition in the world. You have the option to watch it live (if you get those precious tickets) or you can also opt to just watch it on TV at one of London’s sports bars.
3. Covent Garden May Fayre. 11 May is the day to experience traditional British entertainment at the Actor’s Church in Covent Garden. Puppeteers from all over England come to perform on this day, a real treat for families. This festival is held annually.

4. Museums at Night. This is one I would love to experience! You can check out arts, history and heritage after dark at London museums. This is a nationwide initiative set on 15-17 May and comes with “new exhibitions, special presentations and fun activities.”

5. Sikh New Year. If you are a student of culture or one who would love to experience different cultures, it may interest you that the Sikh New Year in 2014 is in May. And London celebrates Vaisakhi, the Sikh New Year festival, annually in Trafalgar Square. The free celebration features contemporary and traditional Asian music, dance, DJ sets and fun activities for children.
