Our beloved Nanay Felicia (my hubby Daryl’s mother) turned 78 years old last June 2. The family decided that it was time to celebrate it on the beach.
Despite the apparently merciless sun, we were all excited to get out of the house and from our usual routines. Even our dog, Smoothy, seemed excited to go with us 🙂

I was really pleased that Juliet (Daryl’s sister) and her daughter Danica chose Ocean Bloom Boutique Resort right in the heart of Manapa in Buenavista, Agusan del Norte as the venue for our simple celebration of Nanay’s big day 🙂 Manapa, Buenavista is only about 45 minutes from Butuan City, our place of residence.

This much I have to say: I have been visiting Manapa since I relocated to Butuan in 2007 and I had always wished someone would have the vision to build a nice resort there. Thankfully, the owners of Ocean Bloom got that vision and here we were on Nanay’s birthday enjoying our family time together in the resort.

The beach area was clean and gated. The rest rooms and shower area had a good supply of water and there’s a neat washing and cooking/grilling area 🙂 See photos below:

The area below can also be used for your open-air events like parties and weddings. I thought it looked really pretty so I could not resist having a photo taken of me there 🙂


As of June 2016, entrance fee inclusive of “nipa” cottage use is P600 good for 10 persons. Ocean Bloom also has more accommodation for rent should you prefer to stay overnight.
