A few years back, I spent several days in Penang, Malaysia to work on my visa. I was then based in Thailand and it was more cost efficient to renew my visa there than to go all the way back to the Philippines. It was my first time to visit the place. But thanks to a Chinese Malaysian contact whom my pastor in the Philippines knew personally. He picked me up at the airport with my name on a placard and helped me find a place to stay in Penang. He also toured me around! 🙂
I did not expect it but I had fun in Penang. I was able to experience a little bit of Chinese, Hindu, Muslim and yes, Malaysian culture. I think it’s one of the best countries in the world for someone to learn about several cultures right in one place. The photos I took might not do justice to the place so I decided to share this video with you of Penang. I accessed it from YouTube. Enjoy 🙂
