It’s been a cool week here in Butuan City where I am now working on this blog. Rain has been a steady visitor during the afternoons and even in the evening or at night time.
The cooler than usual temperature reminded me of our blissful trip just last December in Bukidnon. One of the places we visited was the Communal Ranch in Impasug-ong.
Leading up to the ranch includes a bit of bumpy ride (rough road) but when you reach the place, it feels all worth it. Especially so if you love looking at the mountains and what would normally be expected in a ranch: horses, cows, a lake. And yes, a lot of green all around. All of those minus the usual warm temperature we experience here in the Philippines.
I have to say, too, that our time at the Communal Ranch can rival our experience of seeing majestic mountains and what nature has to offer when we had a trip in New Zealand some years back.
Getting there:
We took a private car from Butuan City (since we are currently based here) and then spent time in Cagayan de Oro (CDO). From CDO, we travelled in the same car to Impasug-ong. But if you’re coming from other parts of the Philippines (Luzon and Visayas), your faster option is to fly in or sail to CDO. From other parts of Mindanao, you can take a bus going to CDO. From CDO, ride a bus going to Bukidnon. You can tell the driver to drop you off at Impasug-ong Tourism Office.
