One of the ways, I relax and de-stress at home is to actually play games — computer and online games. If you have done this, you will get an idea how it can be relaxing. If you haven’t tried it, perhaps it’s about time you do 🙂
For about a month now, I have been introduced to a site which I have bookmarked because it offers free online games!
The site I’m talking about is a business sim games site which features varied games. Go ahead and check out its game categories which includes money games (money counting, cashier, money collecting, and cryptocurrency), real estate games (simulation, space, board, stacking, painting, landscaping, home, construction, and deconstruction), food games (farming simulation, grocery store and restaurant simulation), business games (business simulation, trade, software development and office politics), environmental games (recycling, green energy, lumberjack and mining & resource management), and other fun games (Math, food-themed, hidden object and platformer games). So, that’s A LOT of categories and A LOT of games within each category! All games for kids and the kids at heart 🙂
So, where does one begin to play with so many choices?
I tried as many as I could but find the following the most fun and helpful to me, my family and my readers:
Money Games. The one I find most interesting is the Counting Money game among the Money Counting games. I think it’s a fun way for kids to learn and review counting money, a basic and important skill. I also picture this as an easy way for non-US residents to learn more about US money should one travel or even move to the US. If you also like puzzles, you will enjoy playing the Jigsaw Deluxe, also a Money Counting game.
Real Estate Games. The Simulation Game, Hazardville, is one of the Real Estate games. This is an educational instructional game which explores natural disasters. I find this one very useful to remind players of all ages what natural disasters are and how to cope or navigate when they do occur. I think this is spot-on considering the apparently increasing number of disasters worldwide.
Environmental Games. I think the World of Resources, a Green Energy Game found among the Environmental games, can be used in actual classroom learning or homework. While I work now as an Academic Advisor for undergraduate and graduate students, I used to teach and tutor kids. This game is something I would encourage kids to play. World Of Resources is an educational game which explores natural and man-made resources. This game would help kids learn and remember (if they have learned and forgotten) the various resources we have and value them.
Other Fun Games. The game Math and Prizes, one of the Math Games, is another game which would be great for kids and even adults! Math and Prizes is a toy collecting game where players earn virtual toy stickers by solving math problems. Yes, playing this game will sharpen or refresh one’s Math skills. And don’t we all use Math in every stage of our life? In fact, we use Math daily so who says we can’t benefit from Math games as well?
Now, if you are up for the thrill in solving mysteries or finding things, then check out the Hidden Object Games. I actually enjoyed two games here: What’s Grandma Hiding and Hidden Food. I believe Hidden Object Games help us to be more observant. Games like these challenge us to notice details. Being observant and detail-oriented is highly useful in the work setting and life in general. It is even a key skill during life or death situations.
So, what are you waiting for? Let the games begin!
