They Call It Calea

A Bacolodnon told me: “Your experience of Bacolod would not be complete without trying Calea.” And so together with a couple of friends, I checked out the place while I was on a trip to Bacolod.
Sure enough, the cakes at Calea Pastries and Cake were pleasing to the taste 🙂  And yes, I would say the Calea mudpie is a best-seller for a reason 🙂

Calea’s ambiance is quite cozy. I heard that their shop which I visited near L’Fisher hotel in Lacson street is undergoing renovation. I think that’s good news. A bigger place and better customer service would be appreciated by its customers. Last time I checked this is how the place looked like:

Bacolod is known for its sweet delicacies like the Piaya but cake products like those available in Calea can rival them and can be your choice of pasalubong as you leave the City of Smiles.
